Power BI Visualizations: The Tour

Speaker: Mike Antonovich

Summary: Power BI includes a large number of built-in Visualizations. Each month when a new version of Power BI is released you need to first go into the notes to see what updates occurred to the existing Visualizations. Recently Microsoft has added some much needed formatting options to better display your analysis. But these are not the only options. The Power BI site includes a growing library of community contributed Visualizations. We will take a look at some of these and show how easy it is to download one or two and add them to our reports. I'll also touch on how I include my results in static reports and discuss the alternative, using powerbi.com to share your data models and reports with others.

About Mike: Michael Antonovich is the assistant director of Web Services for Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, FL, where he manages the SharePoint portal team. His team is also responsible for .NET custom applications. He has published seven books, including "Office and SharePoint 2010 User's Guide." Mike has used SQL Server since 1998 and, for the past 3 years, has been promoting SSAS, PowerPivot, and BI for the masses.
