Introduction to PowerPivot for Excel

Summary: This presentation focuses on the basics of how to use PowerPivot with Excel to create simple pivot tables (cubes) and pivot charts using both data already in Excel as well as how to connect to SQL tables as your data source. It will also cover how add slicers, how to add calculated columns and how to define hierarchies in your pivot tables.

About Mike: Mike Antonovich is the Assistant Director of Web Services for Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, FL where he manages the SharePoint portal team implementing the Internet, intranet, collaboration, project, team, and school sites. They are also responsible for multiple .Net custom applications around the district. In June of 2010, he published his 7th book: Office and SharePoint 2010 User's Guide. Mike has been using SQL Server since 1998 and SharePoint since 2007.
